Description

The Maokong Gondola located at the Taipei Zoo allows riders to overlook the Maokong tea gardens, Wenshan District and amazing Taipei views from a high altitude, while giving an incredible experience for family and kids to enjoy. They have two types of cabins, the normal one and glass cabins, where the floor is made of glass panes for those unafraid of heights. During weekdays the line is short, so if you are planning to get the glass cabin, weekday visits are recommended. It operates between Taipei Zoo and Maokong and stops in four stations including ZhinanTemple. Fares can be paid by either purchasing the tickets at the stations or using EasyCard. Each adult ticket can bring 2 children for free. Starting from the Zoo Station, the one-way journey time is about 17 minutes to Maokong Station. The cable car can carry 6 to 8 people. There is a water dance landscape platform around Maokong Gondola Maokong Station after nightfall, which is also the most crowded area in Maokong. After taking the gondola to Maokong, you can walk along the left and right sides of the road. Maokong is famous for Tieguanyin tea and since it is located in the Muzha tea area, there are various leisure tea shops providing tourists with dining and tea tasting services. Some of the tea shops have very nice views, which is a good place to enjoy the day and night views of Taipei City. This is highly recommended on a visit to the zoo if the lines are not too long.
