The Elephant Mountain is arguably, one of the best and most popular spots to catch an amazing view of Taipei 101. It is accessible from Elephant Mountain MRT station. However there are many steep steps to the top and it may be quite challenging and not so suitable for toddler and younger kids. Along the trail, there are some resting spots at the sides, and after 10 minutes of hike, there is the first observatory platform with some benches to sit and rest a while. The famous spot - "Six Giant Rocks" viewing area offers a grand view of Taipei City. It can get pretty crowded on the weekends. For those who still have some energy, you can keep going up to a less crowded spot at the left of the path and you'll reach the main observatory platform and photo spot to take pictures of Taipei 101. Both daytime and night time views are beautiful to enjoy.
